"Go and Make Disciples"

Burning Hearts Disciples equips, trains, and supports Catholics across the country to live out the mission of the Church to "go and make disciples" (Mt. 28:19).

You are invited to better understand and implement the call to New Evangelization - to re-propose the person of Christ to the people in your family, in your community, and in your parish. Burning Hearts draws on the best church, business, and education resources, to customize individual faith growth plans or parish/diocesan disicpleship plans that inspire you to be Disciples of Christ.

  • "Practical and hands-on training"

I loved all the hands on ideas that I can use right away. Rather than just focusing on why this is important, we learned actual examples of things we can do.  I'm going to use some of these right away and it's really going to add to my classes!

  • "Hit it out of the park!"

Kristin was a pleasure to work with from the early planning stages of our pre-ordination retreat for the permanent diaconate, to the last day of the conference.

Burning Hearts Disciples, under her direction as Executive Director, was able to meet every goal we were trying to attain for the men and their wives that attended our five day retreat.

Even though I had previous opportunities for conferences utilizing Intentional Disciples; she was able to bring a personal side to our understanding of what a Personal Relationship with God entails. She was able to challenge our deacon candidates and wives to break out of their comfort zones and assist them to be able to lead when they become deacons in their own parishes.

Across the board we received positive feedback from all who attended. Many expressed how much they enjoyed the message, the humor and the way she presented. I can't say enough about the abilities, direction, and thoughts that were pulled together by Kristin for our retreat. You not only hit a homerun; you hit it out of the park!

  • "The wealth of information will benefit my ministry."

I was worried that this was going to be similar to the many “classes” we had already been through - many of which felt like passive reception of content. That was definitely not the case. The wealth of info you gave us - especially the exposure to so many different resources - will be beneficial to me in my ministry. You encouraged me to open up myself and be a little vulnerable - something you modeled so well.

  • "I can better serve my parish now."

This retreat helped me see parish life through a different filter. Those of us who work in ministry think we have dynamic parishes, but so much of what we do is ineffective, dead or dying. I received so much more on how to better serve my parish than I could have ever imagined.

  • "Both practical and spiritual"

This was both practical and spiritual.  It has helped give me concrete language to pinpoint who God is for me, and most importantly begin to unpack why.  I only got about halfway through the reflection handout, but I'm looking forward to going through the rest at home!

Burning Hearts In Your Home

Let us help you nurture your family's faith!

We want to help you become intentional about buiding a God-honoring home one step at a time. Take advantage of these tools designed to inspire and equip your family's faith growth.

Strenthen Your Marriage.

Marriage is the heart of God’s loving plan for the human family.  Pope Francis said,  “When a man and woman celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage, God, so to speak, is mirrored in them, He marks them with His features and the indelible character of his love.”

We have a number of tools to help you strenthen your family by strenthening your marriage including:

  • 7 Day Virtual Marriage Retreat
  • Grade Your Marriage Quiz
  • Marriage Strengthening Resources

Develop a Family Prayer Plan

Studies have shown that the simple routine of praying together at home makes it much more likely you will ...

  • Build a life-long, thriving marriage
  • Strengthen your relationship with your children and teens
  • Nurture strong faith in the hearts of your children and teens
  • Reduce the level of tension in your home
  • Increase marital trust, respect and intimacy

Life makes many demands on today’s families, and lives are often full and hectic. Finding the time for prayer can seem difficult - especially if you aren’t sure where to begin or how to pray as a family.

Take the time to create a plan for your own personal prayer life and for the prayer life of your family. The plan should be written down and agreed upon and discussed by everyone in the family. It doesn’t have to be rigidly followed, but can serve as a grounding reminder -- a thriving, regular, consistent time of worship of and communion with God in prayer.

Find a Disciple.

Pope Francis recently reminded us of the truth in the African Proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child."  Parenting and raising a faith-filled family can be hard. The good news is that you do not have to do it alone!  Even Mary, after her encounter with the angel, traveled to be with another family who could support and pray with and for her as she and Joseph began their lives together (Luke 1:39-40).

We'll pair you with a 1 to 1 Family Disciple who can walk with you and encourage you as you seek to raise your family in the faith.  Your Burning Hearts Family Disciple desires to build a Christ-centered relationship with your family while sharing the Catholic Faith.
