Most accompaniment conversations fail not because the leader doesn't know the Kerygma, but because they start proclaiming before they've actually listened. This guide walks you through six steps — from prayer, to open-ended listening questions, to identifying immediate needs — before it ever gets to speaking the invitation. It includes the specific questions to ask, what to listen for as you're listening, and what to do next depending on how the person responds.

Includes all seven "Simple Thanksgiving Prayers" from this reflection in a single, shareable PDF  + a Bonus prayer for those spending the holiday alone.

Based on Pope Francis' encyclical, Evangelii Gaudium.

How to Use this Reflection

We recommend doing this exercise first focusing on your personal activity, energy, and time as a priest, pastoral leader, deacon, or lay minister. It can also be adapted to use with a parish team to discern how to implement this vision in your parish.

Some sample areas of personal focus:  Discipleship efforts at home or with friends, implementing radical hospitality in your life/ministry, developing a personal faith growth plan, charism discernment

Some sample areas of parish renewal focus:  Building a leadership team, developing an intercessory prayer network, charism discernment, improving accountability & openness

This simple, practical guide introduces Catholics to a powerful and approachable way of praying with others—right in the moment. Whether you’re with a friend, family member, or someone you’ve just met, “Share Prayer” offers a step-by-step method for offering intercessory prayer that is Spirit-led, non-threatening, and deeply pastoral.

Designed for everyday encounters, this resource includes:

• A clear template for praying with someone aloud
• Biblical and Church quotes on the power of intercession
• Practical encouragement and examples
• A pastoral tone rooted in real-life ministry moments

This flyer helps break down barriers around spontaneous prayer, empowering everyday missionary disciples to bring the love of Christ into ordinary conversations.

Ideal for: Parish leaders, prayer teams, catechists, small group facilitators, and anyone ready to say "yes" to the Holy Spirit’s promptings in daily life.

Use this resource to prayerfully consider:

• How fear, comfort, or busyness may be dulling your zeal
• Where your parish culture may resist the missionary mandate scrupulosity or spiritual worldliness is distorting your witness
• How to reignite joy, courage, and openness to the Holy Spirit

This is a tool for humble discernment and bold renewal—for anyone serious about accompanying others toward Jesus and proclaiming the Gospel with their lives.

Ideal for: Parish staff, evangelization teams, small group leaders, clergy, and anyone desiring a Spirit-led reset in their mission.
