Making Disciples Today: Blog

The Accompaniment course hit me right-on with very practical steps on how to walk with others and to see the bigger picture (something I have been in need of) of where I am on my own journey as well as how to help my family and parish. The stressing of a focus on Jesus, not being silent, praying with people now, healing, the importance of stories & listening, and many other items were also a great capstone.

I have been “drinking out of firehouse” of our Catholic Faith since having an experience of the love of Jesus in January of this year.  My wife had experienced a similar encounter at that time as well, which has been great has been a blessing to walk together. We have experienced many small (& a few large) transformations over the last 8-months and the accompaniment training has been one more step on this journey.

This was the first formation event that I have attended, and I fully plan on attending the rest of the series. This was material that I will go back to again and again.  Kristin was an excellent speaker - I appreciated her directness, and also her including group discussion and prayer times.  I am looking forward the next session!

I felt the topic was very timely as we search for new understandings and the HOW of applying evangelization skills to our ministry.  It was the most informative, formational, and nourishing event I have been to hosted by the Arch[diocese] so far.  I plan to implement this immediately by focusing more on providing encounters with Jesus, not just providing programs, and spending more time and effort accompanying individuals in my parish, especially my youth.

Kristin was a pleasure to work with from the early planning stages of our pre-ordination retreat for the permanent diaconate, to the last day of the conference.

Burning Hearts Disciples, under her direction as Executive Director, was able to meet every goal we were trying to attain for the men and their wives that attended our five day retreat.

Even though I had previous opportunities for conferences utilizing Intentional Disciples; she was able to bring a personal side to our understanding of what a Personal Relationship with God entails. She was able to challenge our deacon candidates and wives to break out of their comfort zones and assist them to be able to lead when they become deacons in their own parishes.

Across the board we received positive feedback from all who attended. Many expressed how much they enjoyed the message, the humor and the way she presented. I can't say enough about the abilities, direction, and thoughts that were pulled together by Kristin for our retreat. You not only hit a homerun; you hit it out of the park!
