Encounter the Gospel

Encounter the Gospel

You probably didn’t come here to stop. Most leaders don’t.

You’re used to moving on once things make sense. Checking the box. Carrying it forward.

This is not that.

This is a place to pause.

Not to learn.
Not to analyze.
Not to decide what comes next.

You don’t need to prepare yourself.
You don’t need to be ready.
You don’t need to be good at this.

Just stay here for a moment.

The Gospel

You were created out of love.

Not as an idea.
Not as a role to fill.
Not as someone God tolerates because you’re useful.

You were wanted.
Before you proved anything.
Before you learned how to hold things together.

God did not make you to perform for Him.
He made you for relationship.

And something in that relationship is fractured.

You already know where.

The quiet compromises you don’t talk about.
The ways fear or self-protection have learned to sound reasonable.
The weight you carry that competence no longer reaches.

This isn’t just exhaustion.
It isn’t just burnout or failure.

It goes deeper than behavior.

God did not turn away.

He came toward you.

Jesus Christ entered the mess of the world—not to condemn it, not to manage it, not to explain it—but to rescue it.
He took on our flesh.
He carried our sin.
He entered suffering and death itself.

Not in theory.
For you.

On the cross, He held nothing back.
He took into Himself what separates you from God and broke it open.

He rose from the dead.
Not as a symbol.
As a living person who is alive now.

Jesus is not distant.
He is not waiting for you to get it together.

He is present.
He knows you.
He sees exactly where you are—what you carry, what you avoid, what you’re afraid to name.

And He is offering Himself to you again.
Today.

Not as something to understand.
As someone to trust.

New life is not something you manufacture.
It is given.

Freedom is not something you earn.
It is received.

Jesus is offering you life.
Not someday.
Now.

A moment of response

Let this be spoken to you.

If you’re willing, tell Jesus—quietly or aloud—where you actually are.
Not where you think you should be.
Not where you usually present yourself.

You don’t need the right words.
You don’t need to fix anything.

And if you’re willing, you can pray this—or something like it:

Jesus,

I believe you love me.

I know I have not always lived in that love.

I give you the parts of my life
I try to manage,
the places I hide,
the places I’m tired of holding together.

I open my life to you again.
Be at the center.

Give me the life you promise.
Fill me with your Holy Spirit.

I receive what you are offering.

Amen.

Stay here as long as you need.
