Unleashing the Power of Story

Sauk County Vicariate: Diocese of Madison

Burning Hearts Disciples' Executive Director, Kristin Bird, willlead us in breaking open the most powerful sotries we have -- the ones that come out of our personal encounters with the life-changing power of Jesus.

The most valuable way to share our faith is by telling our own story – our own personal testimony of the difference Jesus Christ has made in our lives.  The Power of Story is that it can bring about conversion – a collision of narratives. Discover how God’s Story touches my story and your story, and experience the collision of grace that results. We’ll break open the most powerful stories you have –  the ones that come out of your personal encounter with the life-changing power of the person of Jesus.  We’ll uncover your answer to the key question:  What difference has Jesus made in my life?

Key Quotes

The light of faith is linked to concrete life-stories. (Pope Francis, Lumen Fidei, 12)

Faith is not the product of reflection, nor is it even an attempt to penetrate the depths of my own being.  Both these things may be present, but they remain insufficient without the ‘listening’ through which God, from without, from a story he himself created challenges me. (Pope Benedict XVI, October 2015 Interview)
