Lenten Parish Mission March 5-7, 2024

Each of us is called to be a disciple of Jesus and we have been baptized in to an essential mission: to "go and make disciples..." Our Lenten parish mission is aimed at forming disciples and igniting a fervent spirit of evangelization. Presented by Kristin Bird, of Burning Hearts Disciples, our Lenten Mission will equip us with the tools and inspiration needed to authentically witness to the transformative power of God's love in our everyday lives. Join us and discover how you can become a bold and joyful ambassador of the Gospel, spreading the Good News of Jesus in your family, community, and beyond.

Tuesday Night:  Disciples Make Disciples

The mission and purpose of the Church is to evangelize, and Jesus' final instruction to his followers was to "Go and make disciples..."  If we are going to live out our mission as baptized followers of Jesus, we must first be disciples ourselves.  During our first night of the mission, we took an honest look at what it means to be a disciple, focused on our common mission to evangelize and make disciples of others, and started to discover the particular gifts we have been giving to live out this mission in the mission field that God has put in front of us.

Wednesday Night:  The Great Story

The kerygma is the message of the Gospel; the apostolic proclamation of salvation through Jesus Christ.  It is the core and heart of our faith - the foundation of the Good News we are called to proclaim in word and deed.  The most powerful proclamation of the kerygma is the one that comes from out of your personal encounter with the life-changing power of the person of Jesus.  The most effective proclamation tool you have at your fingertips is your answer to this question:  What difference has Jesus made in your life?
