Start Here: For Parish & Diocesan Leaders | Burning Hearts Disciples

You already know that mission matters. You've read the documents, attended the conferences, prayed about it. Your team is willing. The conversations get animated.

And six months later, you're having the same conversation.

The RCIA process informs but doesn't accompany. The pastoral council keeps revisiting the same conversations. Volunteers carry too much, staff carry more, and another initiative rollout leaves everyone a little more depleted than before. There's a growing sense that something deeper is missing – but the path forward isn't clear, and no one has time to figure it out alone.

If that's where you are, you're in the right place.

How We Work

Burning Hearts Disciples is not a program. We don't hand you a binder and wish you well. We don't fly in for a weekend and disappear.

We walk with you. We listen first – to where you are, what you've tried, what's working, and what isn't. Then we help you discern what the Holy Spirit is actually doing in your community, and we build a path forward from there. Not from a template. From you.

Everything we do is rooted in clear Gospel proclamation, the art of accompaniment, the power of personal witness, and prayerful discernment.

That's what accompaniment means to us. It's relational, intentional work that clarifies mission, strengthens leaders, and builds capacity that lasts beyond any single event or program.

Who We Work With

We work with parish leaders, diocesan staff, pastoral councils, school ministry teams, and diaconate formation programs. Our partners range from individual catechetical leaders discerning their next step to dioceses building culture change across dozens of communities.

What they share isn't a job title – it's a posture. They want deeper conversion in their communities, not just better programming. Clearer proclamation, not just busier calendars. Leaders who accompany instead of manage. Sustainable mission instead of temporary enthusiasm.

A few things worth knowing about how we work:

We're not a speaker bureau. We do speak and lead retreats, but that's never the whole picture. A weekend event without follow-up rarely changes a culture.

We don't offer prepackaged curricula. If you're looking for a boxed program you can implement without customization, we're probably not the right fit – and we'll tell you that honestly.

We do stay. The communities that experience the most fruit are the ones where we walk together over time – listening, adjusting, and building capacity so that when we step back, the mission continues.

"Burning Hearts Disciples has helped me and my leadership team develop and communicate our vision of discipleship in the Diocese of Biloxi. They met us where we were and walked alongside our team developing a process to move from maintenance to a purpose of mission."

Bishop Louis Kihneman III, Diocese of Biloxi
